Basil, our namesake, is an essential ingredient in Asian cooking. 

Basil Asian offers delicious Asian food, Pad Thai and noodles, classic Chinese dishes, sushi, and sashimi in a lush setting with a full bar, featuring a wide variety of cocktails, sake, beer and wine.  

Basil Asian Bistro is run by Tony Ly and the Ly family. Tony’s father, Luong Ly, is the head chef. The Ly family uses only the freshest ingredients along with unique cooking techniques to create the succulent dishes on the menu.

The menu items are inspired by Pacific and Southeastern Asian cuisine and feature gourmet offerings such as spicy Szechuan, Thai curries, and Pad Thai, and fresh sushi. There also are traditional dishes available at the restaurant, including 23 different stir fry options, such as General Tso’s chicken and moo goo gai pan.

In 2016, Basil opened a second location in beautiful downtown Wooster, Ohio, which offers traditional full service along with carryout. The Wooster location offers a full bar, delicious sushi and Pan-Asian cuisine.

In 2018, Basil 1791 opened in historic downtown Hamilton, Ohio. The “1791” is a nod to year Fort Hamilton was created. The location serves all the Basil favorites everyone loves, including sushi.
